Attorney Kwan Yeong Cheon graduated from the Department of Public Law of Seoul National University and completed the training courses at the Judicial Research and Training Institute. After completing his service as a public-service advocate in 2005, he worked as a prosecutor, deputy senior prosecutor, and senior prosecutor in various parts of the country. He also taught at the Institute of Justice, instructing the new prosecutors who are from the 6th and 9th graduation classes of law schools and the 46th and 49th training courses of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. Immediately after retiring from the prosecutors’ office on a voluntary early retirement in February 2021, he joined LIN as an attorney at law. Attorney Cheon has an in-depth knowledge and diverse experience in almost all criminal cases and trials, as he investigated and handled nearly all criminal cases such as those involving various property crimes, violent crimes, drug-related crimes, sex crimes including those against children, crimes relating to redevelopment and reconstruction, tax crimes, and others during his service as a prosecutor in the criminal department and the criminal trial department and obtained extensive experience as a prosecutor in the criminal department and a senior prosecutor of criminal trials. In 2015 and 2016, he also worked as a legal affairs officer at the Korean embassy in Berlin, Germany, providing legal advice therein. Based on his profound experience, he plans to provide high-quality legal services in all areas of criminal law, including criminal investigations, litigations, and legal advice relating thereto.
