Mr. Jong Tae Lee worked for The Kookje Daily News, a Korean newspaper based in Busan, for about 30 years, where he mainly covered economic and business news. Mr. Lee’s contributions as a journalist include his coverage of various issues and making recommendations with the Ministry of Strategy and Finance in relation to budget, taxation-related policy decisions and enforcement processes that pertain to and support the economic policies relating to the Korean economy as a whole. In particular, he brought to the public’s attention that the economic policies based on political rationales and departmentalism would result in not only market distortion but also conflicts among local governments and a considerable negative impact on local economies, and he did not refrain from holding the central government accountable in the process.
Mr. Lee is currently a senior advisor at LIN where he provides advice on resolving and mediating disputes among companies, individuals, government authorities, and local governments using his experience as journalist.
