Lance Lee is the Head of the International Arbitration & Litigation Practice Group at Lin. Lance is a renowned leading expert in international arbitration and litigation, and he has been consistently recognized by major publications and industry peers as the premier international arbitration and litigation expert in South Korea and received numerous awards for his work. He has extensive experience in representing clients in international arbitrations and litigations in a wide range of business areas. He is an International Arbitrator, and his arbitration practice experience includes representing clients in many of the major international arbitration centers, including the ICC, ICDR, ICSID, SIAC, HKIAC, LMAA, LCIA, and the KCAB.
As a Partner and Chair of the International Arbitration & Litigation Practice, Lance leads dispute cases at Lin, including cross-border litigations and government investigations. He has extensive experience advising clients on intellectual property matters, overseas investments, corporate M&As and contract negotiations for multinational corporations and global conglomerates. Lance’s clients range from the top Korean conglomerates to Fortune 500 multinational corporations.
Lance served as the Chief Operating Officer and Head of International Arbitration & Litigation at Dentons Lee. As a Partner at Dentons Lee for eleven years, Lance successfully handled a significant caseload of international arbitrations and litigations, for which he received numerous awards and recognitions, to include selection as one of the top 50 disputes lawyers on the continent of Asia.
Lance worked for eleven years at the law firm of Kim & Chang, where he served as a Partner in the International Arbitration & Litigation Department. While at Kim & Chang, he co-founded and co-chaired the AMCHAM Government & International Affairs Committee. He served as Group General Counsel for STX Shipbuilding Corporation based in Seoul, where he handled all of the legal aspects of overseas corporate investments and outbound arbitrations. He also worked for Gainer, Rient & Hotis LLP. Lance was a U.S. Army JAG Officer, where he worked as trial counsel in courtroom litigation. He completed his military service with the rank of Captain, and graduated from the JAG Officer Basic Course and the U.S. Army Airborne School as a military paratrooper.
