Mr. Youn has joined the firm following 14 years of experience at an international investment bank's fund division and a private equity fund.
During his tenure as a managing director and general counsel of a private equity fund, Mr. Youn demonstrated proficiency in various areas. He played a key role in the establishment and management of private equity funds, facilitated asset acquisitions, and led successful cross-border transactions. Among his achievements, he led a Korean consortium's acquisition of mining partnership interests in Canada, valued at KRW 1.2 trillion (approximately US$ 1.1 billion). Additionally, he assumed responsibility for compliance, risk management, and government relations.
Prior to his position at the private equity fund, Mr. Youn served as a general counsel at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Asset division in Seoul. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in overseeing the asset acquisitions and project finance transactions of multiple funds. He oversaw the management of funds operated by Macquarie, including the largest infrastructure fund in Korea, renowned for its dual listings on the Korea Stock Exchange and the London Exchange.
Before his tenure at Macquarie, Mr. Youn worked at a law firm, focusing on M&A, corporate law, finance, and international trade.

- Advised US private equity fund on its acquisition of a Korean company
- Advised various private equity funds on their acquisition of majority/minor interests in Korean companies
- Advised KBW shareholders on its sales of 100% interests to UL
- Advised financial holding company on its acquisition of controlling stakes in asset management company, venture zzzcapital company, and etc.
- Advised Korean company on its acquisition of a golf course resort in Hawaii
- Advised the Korean consortium with POSCO on its KRW 1.2 trillion (approximately USD 1.1 billion) acquisition of zzzinterests in ArcelorMittal mining partnership
- Led acquisition transactions of interests in companies in USA, BVI, China, Hong Kong, Pakistan, and etc.

- Successfully represented clients in international arbitration cases and civil disputes
- Represented the Korean government in a civil case in New Jersey, USA (USD 75.5 million)
- Represented the Korean government in a civil case in California, USA (USD 3 million)
- Represented SBW in international arbitration case associated with a share pledge loan transaction (USD 2.5 million)
