Tae Eon Koo Appointed as Outside Advisor to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Company's AI Team
Tae Eon Koo of LIN was appointed as an external advisor to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Company's AI Advisory Board on March 18, 2024 (March 18, 2024 - March 17, 2026). Founded on April 2, 2001, KHNP is an affiliate of Korea Electric Power Corporation and the largest power generation company in Korea, generating 31.55% of the country's electricity. KHNP's policy is to increase the safety and operational efficiency of nuclear power plants by training AI with data on nuclear power plant operation experience accumulated over 40 years and various procedures and having AI support the operation in various situations and provide guidance on compliance with norms and technical standards during the construction and operation phases. As a member of the AI Outside Advisory Board, Mr. Koo will do his best to help KHNP innovate nuclear power plant operations and improve work productivity through AI technology, and to secure super-gap technology in the nuclear power industry.
Tae Eon Koo Appointed as Security Advisor to the Election Information System Security Advisory Committee of the National Elections Commission
On March 11, 2024, Tae Eon Koo of LIN was appointed as a member of the Security Advisory Committee of the Election Information System Security Advisory Committee of the National Election Commission. The National Election Commission is an independent, consensus-based constitutional body established to fairly manage elections and referendums in Korea, and to handle affairs related to political parties and political funds. To ensure the stable operation of the election information system and increase trust in elections, the NEC has appointed seven fair and neutral external security experts to serve as security advisors. As one of them, Mr. Koo will do his best to ensure the safe operation of the election information system and the provision of accurate election information so that elections can be held in a unified and harmonious manner while all Koreans can trust the election results.
Hyeong Wan Kim Appointed as a Member of the Advisory Committee on Active Administrative Immunity of the National Audit Office
On March 20, 2024, Hyeong Wan Kim of LIN was appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee on Active Administrative Immunity of the National Audit Office (March 20, 2024 - March 19, 2026). Active Administrative Immunity is a system under which, unless there is intentional or gross negligence on the part of a public officer in the course of performing his/her duties for the public interest, his/her liability will be reduced or eliminated. The Advisory Committee has been formed to continuously come up with and take measures to revitalize the system, including preparing detailed procedures for the system and relaxing the criteria for immunity, As a member of the Advisory Committee on Active Administrative Immunity of the National Audit Office, Hyung Wan Kim will work diligently to help the National Audit Office create a more exuberant and proactive work environment through the immunity system, by reviewing whether or not immunity should be granted and whether the immunity criteria are met from an objective perspective.
Sung June Park Appointed as Advisory Counsel to the Korea Energy Agency
On January 31, 2024, Sung June Park of LIN was appointed as an advisory counsel to the KEA (February 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024). Since its establishment in 1980, the KEA has contributed to the well-being of the Korean people by focusing on strengthening the energy welfare of the vulnerable, building a sustainable energy ecosystem, promoting new and renewable energy, and rationalizing the use of new and renewable energy, including improving energy efficiency. As conserving energy and enhancing efficiency have become increasingly important in recent years, and the promotion of renewable energy has been emphasized, Mr. Park will work diligently to provide optimal legal solutions to the KEA to help improve energy efficiency and carry out its international greenhouse gas reduction and other related projects.
Sung June Park Appointed as Advisory Counsel to the Korea Gas Corporation in Korea
On April 1, 2024, Sung June Park of LIN was appointed as an advisory counsel in Korea of KOGAS (April 1, 2024 - March 31, 2026). Since its establishment in August 1983, KOGAS has been continuously striving to improve the convenience and safety of people's lives through the supply of natural gas by constructing LNG receiving bases and natural gas supply pipelines, importing LNG from overseas and supplying it to municipal gas companies and power plants. During his appointment, Mr. Park will actively work with KOGAS to help the company further its effort to implement energy recovery and develop regional balance.
Jong Sik Kim Appointed as Auditor of the Korea Industrial Technology Agency (KIAT) under the Ministry of Strategy and Finance
On January 2, 2024, Jong Sik Kim of LIN was appointed as an auditor of the Korea Industrial Technology Agency (KIAT) (January 3, 2024 - January 2, 2026). KIAT is a quasi-governmental agency under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy that supports the development of industrial technology innovation policies, and it provides support for, inter alia, the transfer and industrialization of industrial technology, the cultivation of industrial technology professionals and companies, international cooperation in industrial technology, and regulatory innovation. Seung Kwan Choi Appointed as Expert Advisor on Condominium Management in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul
On February 28, 2024, Seung Kwan Choi of LIN was appointed as an expert advisor on condominium management in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (March 1, 2024 - February 28, 2026). For the next two years, Mr. Choi will serve as an expert advisor to Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, to provide legal advice and solutions for the betterment of the area in various aspects, including providing support for general management-related matters, such as community projects, mediation of conflicts and disputes between residents as well as prevention of disputes related to the management of condominiums, and enhancement of transparency in the management and operation process.
Woohyuk Sky Ju, Foreign (U.S.) Attorney, Appointed as Export Field Coaching Expert for the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation for 2024
On January 30, 2024, U.S. Attorney Woo Hyuk Ju of LIN was appointed as an export field coaching expert of the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation for 2024. Mr. Ju received the honor of being registered again as an expert in legal counseling after receiving an excellent evaluation for the previous year's export field coaching. Since its establishment in 1967, the Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation has been contributing to the balanced development of the economy of the Korean people, including farmers and fishermen, by promoting the development of distribution businesses through wholesale market development and education on distribution, and by expanding export promotion businesses and agricultural and businesses to promote consumption of agricultural and fisheries products. During the term of his appointment, Mr. Ju will provide on-site coaching and legal advice, including diagnoses and reviewes, for companies expanding overseas. In addition, he will do his best to ensure the Corporation can guarantee high food-related safety for the public and further develop into a leading agency for the agro-fisheries industry.
Woohyuk Sky Ju, Foreign (U.S.) Attorney, Appointed as TradePro Consulting Expert of the Korea International Trade Association
On March 8, 2024, U.S. Attorney Woo-Hyuk Ju of LIN was appointed as a TradePro consulting expert of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA). KITA supports domestic companies' overseas expansion and import/export revitalization by strengthening export competitiveness, fostering export industries and trade personnel, and strengthening global networks in response to changes in the global trade environment and system. In addition, TradePro was opened by the KITA in response to the growing demand for non-face-to-face consultations in the trade industry, and is a platform that offers digital consulting on trade allowing users to receive expert consultations in various forms such as chatting and phone calls whenever they want. During his appointment, Mr. Ju will work diligently to help the KITA further strengthen its export drive by activating digital marketing and studying major trade issues to consider appropriate response strategies.
Hyun Yoon Choi Appointed as Advisor for Research on Autonomous Cooperative Driving Certification Management System Operation and Abnormal Behavior Management Technology of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority
On January 24, 2024, Hyun Yoon Choi of LIN was appointed as an advisor to the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (KTSA) on the operation of the autonomous cooperative driving certification management system and abnormal behavior management technology (January 24, 2024 - June 30, 2024). The KTSA conducts various projects to prevent traffic accidents, including road traffic safety management, automobile inspection, testing and research on automobile safety, and railway traffic safety management, and promotes the creation of a safe traffic environment and the efficiency of traffic safety management to support the operation or management of transportation systems. During his appointment, Ms. Choi will do his best to help the KITA provide a more convenient and safe transportation environment for the public.
Min Gu Kang Appointed as a Member of the Information Disclosure Review Board of the Korea Marine Environment Agency
On February 19, 2024, Min Gu Kang of LIN was appointed as a member of the Information Disclosure Review Board of the Korea Marine Environment Corporation (February 19, 2024 - February 18, 2026). During his appointment, Mr. Kang will deliberate on matters regarding which it is difficult to determine whether to disclose the information or not, appeals by claimants or third parties, and other matters related to the operation of the information disclosure system in order to ensure the professionalism, fairness, and reliability of the Agency’s information disclosure requests.
