Yong Gap Kim (Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea, 28^th) of Lin has once again proved to be a “standout” this year, being recognized as a Leading Lawyer in the “IP” category in the October issue of Legal Times' Leading Lawyers 2023, Special Issue.
 
In the midst of the increasing specialization of the work of lawyers practicing at law firms, Legal Times reflects this trend by recognizing Korean corporate lawyers as "Leading Lawyers 2023" across 13 practice areas, including IP, TMT, Securities & Finance, Corporate and M&A.
 

After nearly 20 years at Kim & Chang's intellectual property team, Mr. Kim moved to Lin to continue his IP practice, and according to Legal Times, he is becoming just as popular as he was at Kim & Chang, often facing large law firms in court as counterparties.
 
A case in point is the dispute between Nexon and Ironmace over the release of Dark and Darker, a hardcore fantasy dungeon game, in which Lin’s IP team, led by Mr. Kim, is responding to civil and criminal complaints filed by Nexon, including an injunction against trade secret infringement. Mr. Kim is representing Ironmace in this dispute case by filing for a preliminary injunction against Nexon.
