Jung practiced at Yulchon for about 13 years, focusing on, inter alia, domestic and international project development and financing, banking, M&A, EPC, overseas expansion of Korean companies, trade, commerce, intellectual property rights, healthcare, and international arbitration.  Starting as an associate at a US law firm, Whitman & Ransom, in 1984, he founded Chung & Lim, the predecessor of the current LimNexus , in 1986, where he handled various corporate advisory and litigation matters until the end of 1993. In early 1994, he was appointed by the Clinton administration as a senior official at the International Trade Administration of the Department of Commerce, where he served for seven years. In South Korea, he served as the head of Invest Korea for four years, starting in 2006, where he was responsible for attracting foreign companies.
