Jai Yun LIM graduated from Gyeonggi University and Seoul National University of Law, and is a 13th class graduate of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He began practicing law at Kim Chang & Lee in 1983, and served as a managing partner at Nara, a professor of commercial law at Sungkyunkwan University College of Law/Graduate School of Law, and a partner at Yulchonbefore joining LIN in April 2024.
 
Mr. Lim has published more than ten books and 40 academic papers in the fields of corporate law, capital market law, shareholders' meeting practices, and corporate litigation, and is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable lawyers in theory and practice in these fields. He has also served as a member or the chief of various specialized committees of the Ministry of Finance and Economy (Securities System Advancement Committee, Financial Development Review Committee), Korea Fair Trade Commission (Policy Evaluation Committee), Korea Financial Supervisory Service (Securities Investigation Review Committee, Sanctions Review Committee), Korea Exchange (Securities Dispute Mediation Committee), Securities Futures Commission (Securities Futures Investigation Review Committee), Ministry of Justice (Committee on Enactment of an Act on Special Cases Concerning the Commercial Act, Committee on Amendment of Securities-related Class Action Act), and Korea Securities Depository (Depository Settlement Advisory Committee, Securities Settlement Advisory Committee), and the bankruptcy trustee and receivership trustee of various companies, including Korea Development Bank and Samsung Pharmaceutical.
 
 Mr. Lim's main areas of practice include financial regulatory advice, financial disputes, financial criminal cases, corporate criminal cases, financial company inspection/sanctions, corporate law advice, commercial/management disputes, class actions, and general civil/criminal litigations. He was named "Best Lawyer in Capital Market Law" four times in 2014, 2016, 2020, and 2022 in a survey conducted jointly by The Law Times and the Korea In-house Counsel Association, and "Best Lawyer (Finance/Capital Markets)" in 2018 and 2021 in a survey conducted jointly by Hankyung Business and the Korea In-house Counsel Association. He has served as an advisor, chairman, vice chairman, and board member of various commercial law societies, and was the president of the Korean Securities Law Association until 2017.
